Firm Overview

I detest bullies and I enjoy standing up to them. To my potential clients, this is more important information than the universities I attended. (Chicago and NYU). Dealing with bullies can't be learned in any school. The skill is often more important than one's specialty because over twenty years an attorney can become adept in a number of areas. But a specialist who allows himself to be a doormat is useless as my experience against so-called 'specialists' has proven time and again.

Over the years I have taken on bullies in the form of employers, spouses, District Attorneys, unions, occasionally judges, as well as various Chancellors and Superintendents of the New York City School System. I don't hesitate to take appeals if I don't agree with a judge, and over the years I have won more than my share of appeals.

I've been fortunate, my clients come from all over to my Bronx office on the Grand Concourse across from the Courthouse in the shadow of Yankee Stadium. Recently, the wife of a wealthy Chinese entrepreneur who wished to purchase a Condominium in Manhattan sought my services when a seller tried to back out of a deal. She told me she would much rather take the subway to the offices than have her driver battle traffic in midtown. Besides, I refuse to pay midtown rents. I'd rather pass the savings along to my clients.

Consequently, my rates are reasonable. However, my clients have learned that if they want me to use my skills and experience to fight for their principles, they can't expect me to fight for free. I don't take cases on complete contingency other than negligence cases. I subscribe to Webster's old saw 'A lawyer's time is his stock and trade.' I have two boys in law school.

I have found my way into just about every type of Court in the State as well as Federal Courts in the Southern and Eastern District of New York, and taken appeals to higher courts both Federal and State. Most of my Civil Rights cases are brought in Federal Court.

Most of my clients are working people. All other things being equal, the facts of your case are what guides me in the ultimate decision to take your case.
